The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is probably King's most unique book in my opinion, just based on how different it feels compared to the majority of his work. Simply, it's about a little girl who gets lost in the forest while hiking with her mom and brother. She has little or no food and is worried that creatures are hunting her. On this journey she has only one friend, her hero Tom Gordon(relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox) who she begins to imagine is with her every step of the way. It is without a doubt my favorite Stephen King Book. I wish he would write more of these types of books today.
This book is probably one of the most over-hyped pieces of garbage I've ever attempted to read. Thank god I gave up before I was halfway through. I seriously don't understand the praise that's been heaped upon this book, or why it ever got published. GOD IT'S LIKE DAVE EGGERS ALL OVER AGAIN
