explore's race and the invention of the american vision of liberty, through the story of a black boy around the time of the revolutionary war, who does not know he is a slave, and in enclosed in a surreal world of his own and other's invention, until the death of his mother forces him to break free. it's amazing.
I loved this book!! It reminded me of a Richard Laymon novel really which is a good thing for me, but was very well written with lots of different plots coming together at the end. I loved the character of Roxie, although you feel that you shouldn't! All in all a very enjoyable read that I will read again and again :)
