island societies are labs for the earth. and what they tell us about ecology is pretty frightening. if you're complacent (Republican) you're certainly not paying enough attention

After reading other peoples' review that the last two chapters wasn't that good, I just went on and read Kenyon's and Ward's. Kenyon's story, at first, confused me as I realized you have to have a small background about whatever series this story comes from her books. I haven't read any of her works but I didn't say I didn't appreciate her story for this book. For me, it was just an OKAY plot. I mean, the guy doesn't really have to be sarcastic all the time as it ruins the mood. And, is it just me or is the ending a bit rushed? J.R. Ward's was my absolute favorite. I've read all her series of the Black Dagger Brotherhood that's why I praise her (AND! I think I'm a little biased.) Anyways, even if you don't have any background from her BDB series, you can still get along with it fairly well. Although I don't think it's based on the BDB series. For one, a human blood shouldn't be able to sustain a vampire's needs. All in all, I rate her story the highest. Giving it a perfect 5.:)
